Running Dictation – Video Diagram

This video originally featured in the article ‘Video Diagrams – Help your students visualize your instructions.’

This video isn’t an instructional video but an explanation of a classroom activity.

The video runs through the steps of a running dictation.  It shows one student from each group moving towards a poster, remembering a word, phrase or answer and returning back to their group. That student says the phrase while the other students write it down.

For students who missed the instructions the first time, I have simplified the them to “Run. Remember. Say. Write. Repeat” and the video makes it easy to visualize them.
